Alisa also specializes in anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, and compliance matters. Alisa has significant experience in corporate crime and investigation cases related to tax, customs, and sanctions issues.

The tax practice, led by Alisa, provides full-cycle legal and tax services, including tax planning and audit, risk management, and tax due diligence. The tax team also represents and defends clients’ interests before tax authorities during tax audits and/or litigation.

Alisa’s in-depth knowledge of customs law and tax legislation provides a unique and versatile legal foundation for resolving complex client issues.

Before co-founding RockBridge Legal, Alisa worked for over 15 years at the law firm Sorainen as an expert in the tax and litigation teams, where she honed her knowledge and experience in tax and customs matters. During this time, she actively participated in court proceedings, gaining extensive experience in various jurisdictions, including general courts, the Constitutional Court, and the Court of Justice of the European Union. Alisa successfully collaborated with leading companies both in Latvia and abroad, consistently proving herself as a trusted advisor on tax matters.

Alisa helps companies navigate the complex sanctions environment. For example, Alisa conducts internal reviews to ensure that a company does not violate regulations and offers comprehensive analysis to ensure that the company will not violate sanctions rules. She advises companies on developing internal guidelines and policies to ensure compliance with laws, and also provides advice on export control. In addition, Alisa has participated in significant projects, successfully representing clients in litigation against customs authorities.

Alisa’s driving force is taxes, sanctions, and customs-related issues. Her passion for these topics has attracted thousands of followers to her tax blog. But that’s not all. She is a socially active specialist and gladly shares her knowledge at both local and international conferences and events, seminars, and webinars.
