SIA “Ignitis Latvija” Enters Latvian Households – RockBridge Legal Provides Legal Support for Compliance with Electricity Market Regulations and Consumer Protection.
SIA “Ignitis Latvija” has taken the next step in expanding its operations by introducing electricity (and gas) trading products for Latvian households. This launch is the result of 2 years of intensive work, a cohesive, professional, and dedicated team, and one major goal – to create a more dynamic electricity market in the household segment, which, in the near future, will become significantly “smarter” due to the availability of digital solutions, allowing people to use and pay for electricity according to their individual needs. The Ignitis solution is based on a modern technological platform, complex IT integrations, and a simple, transparent application for the customer.
To ensure the legally sound and compliant introduction of the product in the household segment, RockBridge Legal provided legal support in energy law, with a particular focus on electricity market regulation and consumer protection. As part of the project, our team developed the product’s legal structure and client documentation, including drafting the terms and conditions for electricity trading contracts for households, and aligning the documentation with Ignitis Group’s internal standards and group documents, ensuring a unified and legally consistent approach across the entire group. In addition to drafting contracts, we also supported the preparation of mandatory information for the company’s website, covering key aspects related to the service – customer rights and obligations, dispute and complaint resolution procedures, personal data protection (GDPR), and service accessibility.
